Genre Haiku Challenge-Epic Fantasy: Sacrifice

Sacrifice - sacrifice, female, fantasy, dark

Squirming victim lies

night glistens, malice descends

dark Gods smile, appeased

Another haiku for Rob’s Surf Report’s  Genre Haiku Challenge. This month’s theme is Epic Fantasy. Head on over and read some fun haiku, and join in with one of your own.

For those that might wonder, I write the haiku first, then try to find a picture that matches. Because this is the internet and if I can think it, someone’s probably made a picture of it already 😉

Hope you enjoy.

Happy Reading and Writing!

  1. The word squirming makes me squirm.

  3. A (human?) sacrifice to the dark gods . . . I can’t think of anything more intriguing. I like the air of mystery surrounding the nature of the victim; part of the allure, in fact, is in not knowing. Another very cool submission!

And I do my haiku the same way: I’ll write it, and then I’ll use the Zemanta plugin in the editor to find a picture to match. Sometimes I’ll even do a search myself, typing in something like “warrior” into the search box to get better results (since the use of the word haiku brings up a bunch of images of a software called haiku.)

Because first and foremost, it’s all about the creative process – although who says you can’t do it the other way ’round?
