Carpe Diem Special #68 – Hando: Innocence

#68 – Hando’s “puddles on the pavement” The challenge: To write a haiku in the same sense, spirit, and tone as this one:

the puddles on the pavement
carry the moon, the stars
and cherry blossoms (credit: Hando)

My attempt:

Water reflects child
cupping the swirling liquid
he grasps lost heart’s soul

Happy Reading and Writing!

  1. dawwwwww how sweet

    • Thanks! Originally I had it as a man seeing his lost son in his reflection, but for the life of me couldn’t make it fit the syllable count, so I went with a “nicer” version 🙂

  2. What a sweet haiku very much in tune with Hando’s.
