Trifextra Week 98: Someone’s Getting Coal

Teddy couldn’t wait for Christmas day,

so sister helped him steal Santa’s sleigh.

Teddy could not fly it,

and the world threw a fit,

when the presents went to Paraguay!

Trifextra time! In the new format, the crew over at Trifecta alternate the challenge each week. This week is the 33-word Trifextra prompt. The prompt: Charles Dickens, in A Christmas Carol, wrote “There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.” We are giving you exactly 33 words to make us laugh out loud and spread some festive cheer.

I decided to try yet another new poetry form this week, the limerick. Hope you enjoy.

Head on over to Trifecta and read some great writers take on the prompt. Feel free to join in the fun!

Happy Reading and Writing!

  1. Poor Teddy didn’t think that one through 🙂

  2. Ha I think he is forever on the naughty list. I’m confused…it’s a 33 word prompt during the week? I’m lost but that doesn’t say much.

    • Yes, 33 only this week. They switched up the format from twice-weekly to alternating weeks. This week is the Trifextra prompt that used to be on weekends, and next is the normal 33-333 word challenge. And while he may be on the naughty list, I bet he’s a national hero in Paraguay 😉

      • So they are staying with this new order? Only one prompt a week.

Lol maybe but there will be disappointed children in Paraguay next year.

      • As far as I know this is way they’re keeping it for the time being.

Heh! I think they’ll manage, what with enough gifts to open one a day for the rest of their lives 😉 “Aw, Mom, another present?” “Open it or you don’t get dessert; there are children without presents in America!”

      • Ha no the kids in America may just end up attacking Paraguay 🙂

  3. Ha.. that’s one hell of a bad Christmas..

  4. Well, I guess they’ll never forget the day the ruined everyone’s Christmas! But on the bright side, Paraguay has never been happier. LOL!!!

  5. Cute! Very creative. Might have to move to Paraguay now.

    best,
    MOV

  6. Haha, aww. All of those little kids without presents.
    Loved this!

  8. Oh ho! Another limerick, and a good one too. I guess they’ll be opening a Toys R Us in Paraguay.

  9. Very cute, and very funny.

  10. Gone are the days when you could leave your sleigh out and it wouldn’t get nicked by some pesky kids! Thanks for linking up!

  11. Uh oh! Santa is not going to like that. Forget the coal, poop in the stocking for sure! ♥

  12. Hahaha Oh, those rash impulses! I’m assuming Teddy and his sisters have now taken up residence in Paraguay. lol

  13. The dangers of sled-riding without a license. Good one.

  14. Why oh why did Santa leave the keys in the sleigh?

Loved this! (And so did all those kids in Paraguay!)

  15. Aha- the kids in Paraguay will have the best Christmas ever and the wise parents in US can tell the kids ,”See told you ,if you are naughty no gifts from Santa!” and Santa would be too hay not to have to fly around in the snow :-)Cool piece Jeremy!Wish you and your family happy holidays and see you on 26th,God bless 🙂
